1989 World Tour!

Guys.
Last night was the greatest night of my life.
How can anything else compete?!
I got to see my favorite person sing my favorite songs and there were 14,999 other people there also having the greatest night of their lives.
IT WAS AMAZING
Look at that Columbus native on the big screen playing instruments for Tay. I aspire to be you, sir.
I'm pretty sure if you talk to me or even see me for more than 2 seconds you will know that Taylor Swift is my favorite human on this earth. It's the truth. I'm not ashamed. I'm sitting here admiring my 1989 phone case as we speak (write? read?).
I know that not everyone feels that way and it's okay to be wrong sometimes. You'll come around. Everyone does (looking at you people who jumped on the bandwagon after this ICONIC album).
Loving him was RED & we were all RED. DEAD.
Anyway, on to what is important.
TAY CAME TO COLUMBUS.
This is the third time I have seen her in this same arena (RIP Speak Now tour that I missed *sobs*) and I am in love with every second of all three shows.
Her tours are the only time that I LOVE surprises.
I didn't look up anything about the show; I unfollowed all of the Taylor tumblrs (except hers, duh); I ignored all of the buzzfeed articles, no matter how enticing; I refused to listen to Emily when she tried to tell me spoilers. There is NOTHING like the anticipation of what is happening next at Taylor's shows because I know that I will never be disappointed.
However, I did know one thing, the only spoiler I let Emily tell me:
SHE PLAYS ENCHANTED!!!
Listen, Enchanted is my all time favorite song. It has changed my life, honestly. #tb to above where I say that I missed the Speak Now tour. That means that I have never heard Enchanted live and it's all I've ever wanted. During the RED tour I tweeted and tweeted and tweeted Taylor to play it in Columbus, but alas she played it the night before in Louisville *insert tears*.
But my time has come!
I had been looking forward to the Wildest Dreams/Enchanted mashup since the tour started. I actually cried (more like sobbed) every time she sang Enchanted. Yes girl, last night was sparkling and I will not let it go.
I'll see you again, Tay.
If you are going to the 1989 World Tour, be prepared. The light up bracelets are the greatest. You will be dancing, it'll happen even if you don't want it to. You must know all of the words to every Taylor Swift song ever. Everyone else will know them and you never know what song she will play. Then, when you know all of the words and you are screaming along just know that you will hurt the next day, but you won't regret a second. Even if you think you know what's going to happen, you don't.

Here's what I wore to see the queen:
(I cannot count on my fingers and toes how many times people told me/commented like I couldn't hear that I look like her. I know. Thank you. It's not on purpose, but it works.)

Body Love at FMMF

This weekend I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of the first ever Body Love fashion show at Fashion Meets Music Festival in Columbus. It was created by Lindsey Smith and all of the clothes are from Mod Cloth. The theme of this show, as you may be able to tell from the title, is all about loving your body the way it is, embracing it, and showing it off, flaws and all.
(advanced apologies for the terrible quality of these photos, I'll attempt to get clearer ones asap)

I am OBSESSED with this jumpsuit. 10/10
It was a glamorous night, paparazzi and all ðŸ˜‚
The message in this show is so inspiring and important, especially in the fashion industry and at a time where everyone is constantly judged on their appearance and their is so much pressure to meet a certain image of "perfection."
All of the other models had amazing stories and views on their bodies. It was great to be able to get to know and connect with all of them based on this common ground of acceptance and positivity.

London | OOTD

I went back to London. I can't get enough of this city.
I saw all of the monuments last time I was there.
This time was all about what I wore.
I can't deny that I've done a lot of shopping in Europe. There are so many new things here and I feel more free to step out of my element. I bought a couple of firsts here. First maxi skirt, first pair of ripped jeans (I'm aware of their impracticality), and first pair of Birkenstocks.
Let's take a quick moment to reflect on the fact that Birkenstocks in Europe cost roughly a third of what they cost in America. That is blasphemy.

Anyway, onto my ootds.

Day 1:

Pants: Zara (similar)

Day 2:

I'm only slightly obsessed with Zara right now. I can't help it. The summer soldes have turned me into a weak woman. It's all so beautiful.

European Adventures | le Larzac

I'm studying in Montpellier, but every Sunday I am here we have an excursion to another part of Southern France. It's all about exploring what is around us. These are places that aren't very touristy, but very cool.
This Sunday we went to 3 places: the village of Couvertoirade, the Millau Viaduct, and the Roquefort caves. It was a busy day.

There are never clouds. Ever.
1. Couvertoirade
It's a fortified town that was once owned by the Knights Templar. My inner Dan Brown and Robert Langdon fan girl was freaking out.

Couvertoirade is home to about 200 people, an amazing bakery, tiny shops, and even tinier doors.
The door height alone is a sign that I don't belong here.
#tallproblems
Am I in France or at Wimbledon?
What I'm wearing:
Sunglasses: Pimkie
Top: Zara
Shorts: American Eagle (same shorts, different pattern)
Shoes: Keds

2. Millau Viaduct
I know, it seems silly for us to take time to stop at a bridge, but it's more than it appears. First of all, look at this view of Millau:

Is this real?!
This is the tallest bridge in the world (the world!) and one of the greatest engineering feats of all time. The Eiffel Tower could fit under it. Color me impressed.

3. Roquefort caves
Home of the smelliest, most disgusting cheese I've encountered in France, or the cheese of kings, what it was called during our tour.
I'll be honest, this was a thumbs down, but I also think it's something you should do if you ever find yourself in the area.
The tour is all about the legend of the discovery of roquefort cheese and how it's made now. It's pretty interesting. Did you know the fungus in the cheese is in the same family as penicillin? (You do now.)
Approx. 24,000 wheels of cheese.
There's a lot more in southern France than the Mediterranean.

P.S. Shoutout to Wikipedia for confirming the facts I was only half listening to during our tours. :)

Columbus Earth Jam 2015

On Tuesday I had the pleasure of being a part of Aveda Columbus' Earth Jam 2015 Fashion Show. It was so much fun! It was also the first time I've ever done any modeling or anything like that.

To say the least, I was terrified.

The casting was a couple of weeks ago and when I went I had no idea what I was getting myself into. People were talking about dying and cutting hair and that was not something I wanted to sign up for, but it wasn't something I wanted to chicken out on either. I decided to take the chance and just see where this thing would go.

Before this year I'd never heard of Earth Jam even though it's been an annual event here in Columbus for a long time. The purpose is to raise money for charities by putting on an event for Columbus' fashion community (which is surprisingly large in my opinion). This year the theme was 'Artistry: Celebrating the art of film through fashion and beauty.' There were about 8 different movies represented throughout the show.

The day that the models got to talk to the movie groups was intimidating. There were people there who knew Aveda people and each other and then there was me. I didn't know anyone. The groups presented their ideas and we got to talk to them about where we could possibly fit into their show. I honestly thought I wouldn't fit anywhere.

It turns out that I was a great fit for The Great Gatsby (my first choice, no big deal). The second I walked up to them they wanted me to be their wig model. I was thrilled because 1. no hair dying and 2. I was in!

Little did I know...

This was my wig:

This behemoth beehive on my head is a wig that was meticulously (I hope) attached to my head. This was not what I was expecting. The wig was about the size of a small child and I will not lie, it was painful. Everything about it from putting it on to taking it off was not a thrill.

I found out I'm allergic to synthetic hair because when my hair was braided the first day my scalp broke out. I cried a bit when my scalp was most likely being punctured with bobby pins when it was being attached to my hair. And it was the ultimate test of poise and balance to keep it from toppling every time I moved.

Nevertheless, I rocked it (hopefully)! I managed to not fall and wear it on stage in heels. If you're not impressed that's okay, I am enough for all of us.

Crummy picture of me on stage courtesy of my roommate.

The other movies had wigs too! This is reassuring because I wasn't the only one in pain or being extra impressive. We all bonded over our suddenly massive heads and extra height.

Poison Ivy from Batman
Beauty School Dropout from Grease
Effie Trinket from Hunger Games
We discovered wigs stick together if you get too close...

Remember when I said I had to get my hair braided?
This is what it looked like after 12 hours and A LOT of texturizing cream when it was finally free.

This was such a new and amazing experience for me and I'll definitely be back next year if I'm still in Columbus. Everyone I worked with was so amazing and we all made an amazing show. I'll update this post with more/better photos if anyone posts others soon. I wish I had more 'before' pictures, but I didn't save those from snapchat, oops. Next time I'll be on that.

Check out Aveda here as they are wonderful.

And try something new!
